National Gymnastics Day

Cardinal Gymnastics Training Center of Fairfax, Virginia celebrated the 2nd Annual National Gymnastics Day by performing a gymnastics demonstration in Old Town Alexandria.  Virginia joined of 26 other states as the Governor issued a Proclamation honoring this day, believing that this helps to emphasize the importance of physical fitness.

The gymnasts, members of Cardinals competitive teams from level 2 to national elite level, wowed young and old alike for over three hours with dazzling performances on the balance beam and portions of their competitive floor exercise routines. Concurrent with their performance, the gymnasts helped wait on tables at Bilbo Baggins restaurant, donating all tips to the Special Olympics. Through their tireless efforts, the generosity of the numerous donators, and the special support of Bilbo Baggins, over $850 was raised. The girls were particularly excited by this, as they felt it important to allow others to experience the excitement and fulfillment derived from competitive sports.
